Baseshift Cloud now supports MySQL and MariaDB, bringing database branching to teams using either engine.

Create isolated, writable copies of your database for development and testing. Give each developer or test run its own environment to test migrations, reproduce bugs, and experiment with changes. Each copy is independent, so your team can work in parallel.

A copy for each developer or test run

A shared database makes that parallel work expensive. One person is testing a migration, another is reproducing a bug, and a test job is writing over both. A separate copy keeps those three out of each other's way.

  • Test a migration against a copy, and leave the original alone.
  • Reproduce a bug from a known starting state.
  • Try a change, then discard the copy.

Run it locally with Docker

Baseshift Cloud also generates Docker snapshots of your MySQL or MariaDB database, so you can run a copy on your own machine.

The servers stay with Baseshift Cloud

Baseshift Cloud manages the infrastructure, so you can get started without deploying and maintaining the servers yourself.
